Healthcare equipment is essential for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

In order to modernize the technological park of Italian healthcare facilities, new technologies will be purchased by 2024 with the funds of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr). large equipment to replace obsolete ones.

The types of large equipment detected by the dedicated information flow of the Ministry of Health are: CT (computed tomography), nuclear magnetic resonance imaging, linear accelerators, fixed radiological systems, angiographs, gamma cameras, gamma cameras/CT, CT/PET systems (computed tomography positron emission), mammographs and ultrasound scanners.

In the "Find your provider" section of the Portal it is possible to consult, currently only for large public hospitals:

• the total number of large equipment present;
• the percentage of large equipment more than ten years old;
• the number of new equipment that will be purchased by 2024 using Pnrr funds.
